Optometry Wales is supporting a multi‑agency road safety initiative under Operation Atal, emphasising how crucial good vision is for safe driving. Drivers stopped by police were invited to take a voluntary number‑plate eyesight check, creating an opportunity to explain driving vision standards and the value of maintaining good eye health.
Drivers were reminded about the benefits of regular eye examinations, including free sight tests in Wales for over‑60s and other eligible groups through WGOS.
