Working Hours
• The role is typically three to four full days per week, with some flexibility depending on the right candidate’s availability. The position will include scheduled Saturday mornings, which are part of our patient care service.

Job Role Information: We are looking for a full time Dispensing Optician or an Experienced Optical Assistant to join us in delivering outstanding patient care. You’ll play a key role in providing expert advice, sharing knowledge on lenses, frames and fittings, and delivering ongoing care that makes patients feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.

We’re a well-established independent practice with 50 years’ experience serving the population of Barry and more recently Penarth seeking full-time or part-time optometrists to join our team.
We open half day on a Saturday finishing at 12.30 and offer one Saturday a month off.
You will be working with four other experienced optometrists with full support from qualified dispensing opticians.
Further qualifications would be preferred but not essential and we will support time out of practice to gain further qualifications to aid involvement in the full range of WGOS services.
All our optometrists provide a contact lens service. We have a large orthokeratology practice and you can become involved in this fascinating field if desired with full training provided. We offer a myopia management service supported with the Topcon Myah.
