OPERAi – Feedback
Following the launch of OPERAi, we recognise that practices are actively sharing feedback and suggestions. This is expected and welcomed.
A structured national process for submitting and reviewing feedback is currently being finalised with DHCW and partners. This will provide a clear route for feedback, consistent review, and transparency on decisions and next steps.
In the meantime, practices should raise feedback through your Regional Optometric Committee’s (ROC’s) rather than informal routes (e.g. WhatsApp), to ensure issues are captured and managed properly.
Feedback should be sent to:
The ROC will then:
- If LHB specific (relating to pathways) the ROC will raise directly to the relevant LHB, for the LHB to raise then as required with RMSL/ DHCW (in respect of endpoints/ hospitals etc)
- If national – the ROC will collate and raise with OW who will then share them with both NCLs and DHCW for consideration / raising with RMSL as appropriate.
In respect of next steps there are potentially 3 outcomes:
- Immediate action required (e.g. missing elements on current forms) – where agreed as appropriate by NHS Wales these will be requested to be actioned by RMSL
- Future Development – enhancements that will require further development (where agreed as an appropriate development by NHS Wales) will be added into the discussions for the future procurement of the ERS
- No action taken – some elements are deliberate decisions aligning to policy and clinical intent.
