Job Role Information: This is an exciting opportunity to join Gower Opticians. We are a friendly, independent practice which opened in 2017 in Penclawdd, North Gower.
We pride ourselves on being a community practice offering clinically excellent eye care to all our patients, with an exceptional level of customer service in an unrushed environment. The services we offer include WGOS 1-5. We have longstanding myopia management and low vision clinics, and our IPOS service has been running since 2021. We have an OCT and participate in the WGOS 4 medical retina scheme.
We are a small team and are proud to have been recognised with several awards since opening. In 2023 we were finalists for the Optometry Wales Practice of the Year. We also won Optician of the Year two years running in the Cardiff and South Wales Prestige Awards.
About the Role
Due to growing demand we are looking for a friendly Optometrist who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a truly independent, clinically focused, community practice. We have 40 minute appointments so you actually have time to talk to your patients! We are looking for 1-2 days a week (with no weekends), we open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and close between 1-2pm for lunch. We are very flexible to discuss other working options. There are no targets, and you have the professional freedom to work the way you want.
Key Requirements
A friendly people person who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Registration with the General Optical Council and NWSSP
Strong clinical decision-making and professional judgement
Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in enhanced services
