This is an exciting opportunity to join Gower Opticians. We are a friendly, independent practice which opened in 2017 in Penclawdd, North Gower. We are proud to serve a loyal and welcoming community who value our personalised, caring approach.
We provide clinically excellent eye care alongside exceptional customer service in a relaxed, unrushed environment.
We offer WGOS 1–5 services, with established myopia management and low vision clinics. Our IPOS service has run since 2021.
As a truly independent practice, we carefully select our frame and lens ranges, stocking brands we genuinely love.
We are a small, award-recognised team and were finalists for Optometry Wales Practice of the Year 2023, as well as winners of Optician of the Year (Cardiff and South Wales Prestige Awards) two years running.
About the Role
We are seeking a friendly Dispensing Optician with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care. You will confidently recommend tailored lens and frame solutions based on individual needs.
The role includes reception duties such as booking appointments, managing clinics, and handling enquiries.
You will also liaise with frame and lens representatives and contribute to product selection.
This is a supportive independent practice where quality is prioritised over volume, allowing time to deliver excellent patient care.
We are open to part-time or full-time hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with 1–2pm lunch closure).
Key Requirements
GOC registration
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload independently
Additional Information
Permanent, part-time or full-time
No weekends, evenings, or bank holidays
Salary dependent on experience
